Vintage Effects Without The Camera

Have you ever wanted to achieve that vintage polaroid effect, but don't want to spend the money on a vintage camera, film, and the photo processing price? Us too... You can get these awesome and unique photos with any camera, even  your smartphone and a few editing tools. One of the most popular ways to achieve the vintage polaroid effect on photo is an app called HUJI. It works by taking a photo right through the app or uploading any photo to add an assortment of lighting effects. Here is an example of how it looks before and after! Another easy way to achieve these effects is right through a popular app called VSCO. It allows you to add filters and customize your photo however you like. Here's an example of what your photos can look like simply adding one of the preset filters and a grain filter.

The last piece of advice we can give you is a little more advanced than the other two options! Photoshop is a great way to manipulate your photos. There are infinite ways to achieve a look that you want through photoshop but we'll show you a few simple steps to make your photos look a little older. To this photo we added noise, dust and speckles, lowered the saturation, added a blur, and a Fujifilm lens correction. Obviously you can mess around and add any kind of adjustments to create the look you are going for.
